The EURO WISDOM Forum aims to provide a platform to support, empower and encourage the participation of genders in Operational Research within EURO. In particular, it aims to promote inclusivity by the following actions:
- advise/make recommendations/highlight best practices to the EURO executive on issues,
- promote championing, networking and mentoring, particularly of women at early stages of their career in OR,
- promote a conversation around how OR can be utilised to help create a diverse and inclusive future.
To this end, we would like to highlight the indispensable role of PR Subcomittee. In addition, Event Subcommitte organises talks/networking/mentoring events – like our initiative YoungWomen4OR and several webinars. Research Subcommittee gathers/identifies data to answer gender equality research questions. The White paper entitled Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusivity in EURO Activities has already been published. We are working on collaboration and co-authorship networks.
